7-Year-Old Pup Trapped in High Kill Shelter, Sleeps Away Her Pain

I will get personal here for one moment. When I’m feeling sad and blue, and feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders, one of the first things I do is find a bed or nearest crawl space, and tuck myself into a fetal position. The goal in this is to come up with a strategy to tackle the issue I have at the moment, and I will admit, sleep away the pain.

For a dog named Zoe, the pain is all too real. Trapped at the high kill Miami-Dade Animal Shelter (MDAS) in Miami, Florida, since early January, the 7-year-old pup is coming to grips with a new reality she could never have imagined. The chaos, noise, and confusion of life at the MDAS has shattered her emotionally, and so most days, you can find Zoe curled up on her favorite bed sleeping away the pain. Sadly, Zoe’s owner didn’t want her as part her life anymore, and so one day, she packed up her toys and favorite bed, drove to the MDAS, and mercilessly surrendered her to a kill shelter to fend for herself.

SpeakUp, a kill shelter is no place for an innocent dog who just wants to feel love and experience happiness. If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever family she rightfully deserves, please contact the Miami-Dade Animal Shelter at (305) 884-1101, and reference the shelter ID #A1843225.

Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding Zoe a home. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.💕❤
