Frightened 1-year old chihuahua living in kill shelter, trying his best to keep a 'brave face'

When you meet this unnamed pup, the first thing he does is give you a paw, and a smile that could quite literally light up an entire room. However, you notice something very off, as soon as you walk away. That’s because the 1-year-old pup knows that he isn’t leaving the shelter with you, and so its back to the corner in the kennel, where he awaits the next patron who might take a chance on him.

This unnamed pup is presently cutting his teeth inside the Carson Animal Care Center, a place volunteers who spoke on condition of anonymity described to me as a “prison for dogs.” Like other animals trapped inside the high-kill facility, this unnamed pup is on a time constraint. That means he has just a few weeks, if not days to find a forever family before the unthinkable happens: euthanasia.

A Petharbor listing for unnamed pup reads,
#A5182237 I'm an approximately 1 year old male Chihuahua. I am not yet neutered. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 5/24. I will be available on 5/28. You can visit me at my temporary home at C227.

According to my source at the shelter, defeat, after defeat has taken a toll on this unnamed pup emotionally. Sadly, he has given up, and when patrons visit his kennel space today, he is just too sad to lift up his head anymore to try and make an impression.

Fidonation, if you or someone you know is interested in giving this pup the forever family he rightfully deserves, please contact the Carson Shelter - 310-523-9566, and reference the shelter ID #A5182237.
